Alexandra Holmes is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed, with a focus on helping clients better understand their experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change.
Alexandra draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. She works collaboratively with clients to identify goals that feel meaningful to them and to develop strategies that fit their individual needs.
She received her undergraduate degree from Denison University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She later graduated with honours from Yorkville University with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP).
Alexandra has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent experiences. She has a particular interest in trauma and neurodiversity, and brings five years of experience providing Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) to autistic children.
Alexandra also has a passion for working with young people through sport. An avid runner and soccer player, she competed on varsity women's soccer, track and field, and cross-country teams at Denison University. She continues to be involved in sport through refereeing and coaching, supporting young athletes as they develop confidence, connection, and a passion for sport.
