Couples Therapy

A collaborative space where two people can slow down, be heard, and begin to understand each other more deeply — with the support of a therapist who holds space for both of you.

What is couples therapy?

Couples therapy is a form of psychotherapy that brings two people together with a trained therapist to work through challenges, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship. It offers a structured, neutral space where both partners can feel heard — without the conversation spiralling into the same patterns it always does at home.

Couples come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are navigating a specific crisis — infidelity, a major life transition, or a breakdown in communication. Others feel a slow drift and want to reconnect before things get worse. Some simply want to build a stronger foundation before it becomes a problem. All of these are valid and welcome reasons to seek support.

At Healing Within, our therapists approach couples work with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for the complexity of intimate relationships. We don't take sides. We help both partners feel understood, and we work collaboratively toward the goals that matter most to you as a couple.

How it works at Healing Within

01

Free 15-minute consultation

We begin with a free consultation — a chance for you both (or one of you) to connect with your therapist, ask questions, and decide if the fit feels right before committing to a session.

02

Your first session

The first session is an opportunity for your therapist to understand your relationship history, what's brought you to therapy, and what you're each hoping to work toward. Both perspectives matter equally.

03

Ongoing sessions

Sessions are typically 50 to 90 minutes. Your therapist will work with you to identify patterns, build new skills, and make meaningful progress toward your shared goals.

04

At your own pace

Some couples work through a specific issue in a few months; others choose to continue longer for deeper relational growth. The pace and direction of therapy is always shaped by what you need.

What couples therapy can help with
